OPERATIONAL DISCIPLINE REQUIREMENTS:
Disciplined application and participation in the Task Planning & Risk Assessment Process.
This is inclusive of:
Understanding and perform the roles and responsibilities as assigned at the pre-job meeting.
Understanding the hazards associated with the task.
Understanding and effectively implementing the control measures required to mitigate identified hazards.
Execute all tasks and task steps in a disciplined manner, following the sequence detailed in the relevant procedures.
Recognize at risk behavior or conditions during tasks and call 'Time out for Safety' when unsure, or when the job does not go as planned.
Participate in After Action Reviews to feedback lessons learned from performing the task.
Ensures the Daily IBWM Report must be sent out via the Subsea IBWM Reporting Application detailing the progress of the ongoing IBWM scope.
Leads the AAR (After Action Review) calls post IBWM event to capture improvement opportunities.
Ensures all of the checks and tests are completed and documented on the PDCL (Pre-Deployment Check List).
Leads the PDCL call prior to BOP deployment.
Ensure that the Subsea Dept at all times has the necessary supplies and spare parts for operation and maintenance of all the subsea related equipment on board in accordance with Transocean's inventory policy.
While prudence should be taken into consideration when re-ordering spares, overall stock should be maintained as per minimum / maximum inventory.
The min / max settings can and will be adjusted based on consumption levels and insurance parts as required and the Senior Subsea Engineer has to try and ensure it is at the optimum settings for the location/situation.
HSE REQUIREMENTS:
Report all incidents, potential hazards or abnormal situations to supervisors.
Actively execute work in accordance with Company Safety Processes, e.
g.
START, Task Planning Risk Assessment and use of the Prompt Card, Safe Manual Handling, Working at Heights, etc.
Call a Time Out for Safety (TOFS) when you do not understand the plan, when an unsafe condition is observed, or perceived, anytime personal impairment is recognized, when it's not clear what will happen next, or the hazards and associated risks for the task changes.
Participate in the execution of the rigs 'Hold the Zero' plan.
Comply with the company requirements to safeguard 'lone workers.
' Maintain a safe and organized work area throughout all tasks and on completion of tasks.
Incorporate the Task Planning and Risk Assessment process into all tasks, whether working alone or as part of a team.
Apply the START process during the execution of planned tasks and daily operations.
Ensure subordinate personnel are properly trained in the START process.
Ensure subordinates are trained prior to using the permit to work (PTW) process.
Approve all PTW as designated by the Master/OIM through the Control of Work Process; Ensure all task steps and controls are understood and any other activities that may be affected are identified before approving the PTW.
Call a Time Out for Safety (TOFS) whenever an unplanned hazard or a change in the expected results is observed.
Ensure that the Company QHSE policies and other programs are communicated to and understood by all personnel.
Play an active part in the weekly meetings, FOCUS Improvement Program, and all other Company safety management systems.
Ensure that a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping is maintained within the Areas of Responsibility.
Ensure that subordinates understand their roles as related to the Emergency Response Plan and are capable of responding to emergency situations as designated on the station bill.
Ensure all required well control drills are performed and evaluate all personnel's responses; Conduct After Action Reviews and ensure that findings are communicated to the crew and lessons learned captured.
Ensure that DROPS inspections are conducted as per the rig's DROPS inspection program.
DUTIES:
The underlying expectation is that all duties are carried out in compliance with the Company Operational Discipline expectations and HSE requirements.
When considering assignment of duties for the Senior Subsea Supervisor, the Supervisor and the Senior Subsea Supervisor will apply the rules of task planning (CAKES) to determine if the assigned role is appropriate.
This means confirming that the individuals involved have the knowledge, skills, and experience to carry out the task, and the task plan complies with policy before they are authorized to proceed.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Operations/Maintenance:
Maintain the Blow Out Preventer (BOP), Diverter, and associated subsea equipment in accordance with AIM (Asset & Inventory Management) guidelines.
Operate and pressure test the BOP on the surface and on the seabed as required.
Direct the deck and drill crews in the running and recovery of the BOP and Marine Riser equipment.
Direct the assembly, installation, and nippling down of the BOP and all well control equipment as required.
Operate, maintain and repair the subsea BOP control system, i.
e.
surface BOP or multiplex electro-hydraulic control systems.
Operate, maintain and test hydraulic connectors; Maintain BOP handling equipment, testing equipment and wellhead equipment.
Operate and service the bridge cranes and related hoisting equipment; Ensure that the drill string compensator is serviced as required.
Ensure that the riser pipe system is serviced and tested as required; Operate and maintain the diverter system and the running and handling tools.
Assist in running/testing the wellhead, casing hangers and seal assemblies; Operate and maintain wellhead running/retrieval test tools.
Ensure that the required riser tensioning pressure is set to comply with the mud weight in use; Monitor and maintain the riser guideline and pod line tensioners.
Maintain accurate daily log sheets relevant to the subsea equipment.
Maintain records of BOP and associated equipment tests.
Maintain records of inspection and certification of subsea equipment.
Ensure that an adequate supply of spares is maintained to fulfill maintenance requirements and facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
Maintain records of ton-miles on wire ropes; Slip and cut according to the agreed program.
Ensure that Supervisor is informed of any issues relating to the subsea equipment that may affect the safe and efficient running of operations.
Ensure that the permit to work and isolation system is in place and followed.
Liaise with the marine department prior to moving the BOP and marine riser package in consideration of the rig's stability.
Assist in supplying information for maintenance and repair budget.
Assist in communicating equipment problems or breakdown with Field Support group and equipment vendor.
Responsible for the IBWM planning, building project scope and safe efficient execution of the same.
Ensures all improvement actions are captured and reviewed in a formal AAR meeting.
Ensure WCE Procedures are available, maintained and updated as necessary and reviewed every 12 months.
Responsible for maintaining WCE drawings, ensures these requirements are met, and Initiates the REA process for changes or revisions to drawings.
Raises the necessary corrective work orders and FDR for WCE failures and report the same on the daily IBWM report.
Assists Rig Management team putting together the spare WCE plan Ensures all requirements listed here are followed when preparing to send equipment ashore.
Follows the initial troubleshooting steps as defined in this section to either resolve the issue at hand or make sure initial recorded information is accurate and complete.
Follows the Senior Subsea Supervisor roles and responsibilities outlined in the latest revision of the Subsea Handbook (HQS-TCS-HB-01) Personnel:
Promote and maintain good working relationships with other departments, third-party personnel and Customer representatives.
Ensure all Maintenance personnel meet the training requirements as per their applicable training matrix.
Mentor, coach, develop and train crew members to ensure they are competent to work at their next job level.
Provide leadership and motivation to the maintenance crews.
Apply continuous improvement process.
Mentor the Subsea Supervisor and deputize when operations, security of well, and personnel safety are not at risk.
Assist in training to ensure that all personnel are competent to perform their allocated jobs.
Participate fully in the annual performance appraisal process.
Apply appropriate accountability regarding recognition; recommend promotion or disciplinary action up to and including discharge.
