Job SummaryJob Profile SummaryThe Rig HSE Advisor provides support, coaching and advice to all rig personnel on the implementation of the Company HSE management system and will spend the majority of their work time at the worksites to accomplish this.
He or she actively and visibly supports the Shared Values and Strategic Initiatives.
The Rig HSE Advisor verifies compliance with HSE management system requirements.
This role has a direct reporting line to the OIM and a functional reporting line to the onshore HSE focal point for their duties related to rig HSE activities.
They are accountable for maintaining effective communication to both reporting lines.

Pre-Requisite/ Qualification:
Must be able to work in the United States of America without visa sponsorship.
High School Diploma (U.
S.
)/ Proof of Completion of Formal Education or Relevant Craft Certificate (where applicable).
Graduate of College or University where knowledge and training acquired are applicable to job requirements - Preferred.
Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates.
Requires a minimum of 5 years' experience working in the offshore drilling industry (Previous operational experience is preferred / candidates with previous HSE experience will be considered).
Must be proficient in written and spoken English and have an ability to communicate effectively.
Competent in Microsoft Office Suite.
Must have the ability to interact with all levels of personnel and build a trusting relationship.
3 Years as Rig HSE Advisor I APPRAISAL:
Recommendation from RM and approved by Sr.
Global HSE Manager supported by performance appraisal result as Superior for the last year.

Operational Discipline Requirements:
Disciplined application and participation in the Task Planning & Risk Assessment Process.
This means, doing the right thing, the right way, every time following Transocean 5 Key Expectations of Task Planning and Risk Assessment.
The Rig HSE Advisor should verify using the Leading Indicators that personnel understand and meet the 5 Key Expectation when performing their tasks This is inclusive of the following actions:
Verify personnel understand and perform their roles and responsibilities as assigned at the pre-job meeting.
Verify personnel Understand the hazards associated with the task.
Verify personnel Understand and are effectively implementing the control measures required to mitigate identified hazards.
Verify personnel execute all tasks and task steps in a disciplined manner, following the sequence detailed in the relevant procedures.
Verify personnel recognize at risk behavior or conditions during tasks and call 'Time out for Safety' when unsure, or when the job does not go as planned.
Verify personnel participate in After Action Reviews to feedback lessons learned from performing the task.
HSE Requirements:
Report all incidents, potential hazards or abnormal situations.
Actively execute work in accordance with the Company HSE policies and Requirements such as:
Control of Work, START, Task Planning Risk Assessment for examples.
Call a Time Out for Safety (TOFS) when they do not understand the plan, when an unsafe condition is observed, or perceived, anytime personal impairment is recognized, when it's not clear what will happen next, or the hazards and associated risks for the task changes.
Be actively involved in the implementation, execution and follow up of the rigs 'Hold the Zero' plan.
Verify personnel comply with the company requirements to safeguard 'lone workers.
' Verify personnel maintain a safe and organized work area throughout all tasks and on completion of tasks.
Verify personnel incorporate the Task Planning and Risk Assessment process into all tasks, whether working alone or as part of a team.
Verify personnel apply the START process during the execution of their planned tasks and daily operations Verify personnel are trained prior to using the permit to work (PTW) process.
Ensure that the Company HSE policies and other HSE programs are communicated to and understood by all personnel.
Play an active part in the weekly meetings, FOCUS Improvement actions follow up, and all other Company safety management systems.
Ensure that a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping is maintained within the all Areas of Responsibility.
Verify that assigned personnel subordinates understand their roles as related to the Emergency Response Plan and can respond to emergency situations as designated on the station bill.
Verify that DROPS inspections are conducted as per the rig's DROPS inspection program.
DUTIES:
The underlying expectation is that all duties are carried out in compliance with the Company Operational Discipline expectations and HSE requirements.
General Duties:
Actively promote, participate, monitor and coach personnel on the HSE Policies and Requirements.
Maintain SME knowledge of the Company HSE and EMS Polices, Requirements and Processes.
Ensure regular, open, active, timely and relevant communication with HSE line management.
Provide updates to the OIM and HSE focal point on results of their verification activities.
Monitor and verify that the HSE communication boards are maintained with current information.
Support and monitor compliance of the installation Orientation process.
Continually review the company management system to identify opportunities for improvement.
Coordinate HSE On the Job Training (OJT).
Support development of Short Service Employees (SSE) in the HSE management system requirements.
Participate and support drills and exercises.
Support the installation in executing all HSE requirements.
Provide feedback on activity verification progress through the OIM and the HSE Focal Point.
Active application and support of organizational learning.
Verify HSE management system changes are communicated effectively and understood.
Conduct Self Verification checks in accordance with management system requirements.
Support supervisors at appropriate HSE and Operational meetings.
Participate in incident investigations when required.
Monitor installation specific training matrix for compliance and advise when necessary.
Support and monitoring of country specific HSE regulations.
Participate in internal and external audits to verify compliance with HSE management system and customer bridging documents as required.
Personnel:
Promote and maintain good working relationships with other departments, third-party personnel and Customer representatives.
Participate fully in the annual performance appraisal process.
Report any observed LCE issues to the OIM.
